Casting is the most widely used method of forming aluminium. On-going investment in the latest technologies helps maintain the high quality of our output, even though the process of manufacture has remain the same. Our experienced work force are highly skilled in two aluminium casting methods; sand casting and gravity die casting.
This is the most versatile aluminium casting method where virtually any pattern can be pressed into a fine sand mixture to form a mold into which the aluminum is poured. Sand casting is very economical and ideally suited for one-off prototypes or small quantities, or when an intricate design is required. We also have a reputation for delivering high quality results for very large or irregular shaped castings; another advantage of the versatility of this method.
Gravity die casting
Gravity die casting, in which molten metal is forced into a steel die under pressure is normally used for high-volume production. Accurate parts, requiring a minimum of machinery, can be produced via this very effective aluminium casting method.
All grades of aluminium can be manufactured using either sand casting and aluminium casting. We can advise on the most appropriate aluminium grades for any project and our quality control procedures ensure grade consistency.
